Kent Area AGM:  Saturday 6 February 2010

Over 100 members attended the 2010 AGM at Shorne Village Hall.  Some of the highlights are set out below.

Motions from Members

Geoff King proposed the following motion:

"That Kent Area adopts a project to collect evidence of the extent of the problem of barbed wire on or near to stiles. Report sheets to collect details of cases, including photographs, should be made available to Groups and when completed collected by Area. The evidence collected should either be used to support an Area project or be presented to Central Office to seek a national campaign for a change in the law and/or enforcement of relevant existing laws."

The motion was overwhelmingly endorsed by the meeting.

Motion for General Council

The meeting voted overwhelmingly to put to General Council in April 2010 the following motion:

Election of Officers

The following Officers were elected:

  • Chairman: Neville Machin

  • Vice Chairman: David Law

  • Vice Chairman: Peter Skipp

  • Treasurer: Ray Lawrence

  • Secretary: Robert Peel
