Extract from Annual Reports

Caring for Paths

Sevenoaks Group has long been active in protecting and enhancing the local rights of way network.  The following extract from the Group's 2004-05 annual report illustrates the commitment of the Group's volunteers.

"Reporting footpath problems to local authorities must be regarded as an important contribution by the Group to the maintenance of the footpath network and we have been fortunate to have this job done so effectively and conscientiously by John Gregory.  Sadly he has decided to step down from the committee this year but I anticipate that the good work he has done will now be carried on by his successor."

And the following is from the 2006-07 annual report:

"Rights of Way and Access

Our footpaths officer has concentrated on his area responsibilities and we have supported him in this.  The group responded fully to the consultation on the Darenth Valley path.  We expressed concern at a suggestion that it may be considered as a cycleway and asked to be further consulted if this idea was further considered."

Please join the Ramblers to support this work.  Our volunteers need your encouragement.
