http://www.streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?x=637797&y=150498&z=115&sv=637797,150498&st=4&ar=y&mapp=map.srf&searchp=ids.srf&dn=712&ax=637797&ay=150498&lm=0
Car sharing recommended, or alternatively for those from South London, there is a direct train from Orpington to Walmer (dept. 08:28; arr. 10:17) that calls at Sevenoaks and Tonbridge.  I'm happy to car ferry people from the station to the starting point, if people go for the train option.
Walk:
9 mile circular
Lunch: Pub lunch at The Coastguard, St Margaret's Bay (http://www.thecoastguard.co.uk/), or packed lunch on the beach.
Comments:
We start at the car park by the beach in Walmer, and head inland by Walmer Castle, across fields and woodland until we reach St Margaret's at Cliffe, where there is a steep path down past the lighthouse and into the bay where we stop for lunch. After lunch, we head up onto the cliffs (making sure we're not too weighted down by the fresh fish and chips at the pub!), and along the White Cliffs Country Trail with views across the sea. Finally, we continue at beach level through Kingsdown (with a potential watering stop at the Rising Sun if it's a hot day), and then back into Walmer.
