Chris Baker from our North West Kent Group has taken
several years to build this database and has now made it available on our
website:

This data base lists around 500 pubs, mainly in Kent, but also
some in Surrey and Sussex and one or two in Essex.
These have been built up from past programmes showing pubs frequented (on
walks only, of course!) by our members. The list shows for each pub:
1.
Village or town in which pub is situated
2. Name
3. Address
including post code
4. Telephone number
5. Grid reference
6. Three
places close (for walking purposes) to pub
As an example:- Chequers, Loose, Old Loose Hill, ME15
0BL, GR757521, tel: 01622 743125 Boughton Green/East Farleigh/Yalding.
The database also has provision for email and web addresses and publican
name(s), but that information is often not included.
Featured Pub
 The
Padwell Arms at Stone Street has a new owner and Rob Merrells has written to
offer a warm welcome to walkers. While he is keen to develop a menu
attractive to walkers, he is quite happy for people to bring their own food
and eat it in the pub with a drink from the bar. Advance warning of
large parties would be appreciated on 01732 761532.
