Greensand Way

The final East Kent section of the Greensand Way, from Yalding to its intersection with the Saxon Shore Way at Hamstreet, was opened by Fay Godwin, then President of the Ramblers, at Sutton Valence School on 15 April 1989.  The West Kent section had been opened three years earlier.  The completion of the route marked a major achievement for the Ramblers in Kent and Surrey.

The Way follows a 108 mile route through Kent and Surrey.  Starting at Haslemere, the route enters Kent at Limpsfield Chart and continues for 60 or so miles to Hamstreet, through some of the best of Kent countryside.
