Welcome to Kent Ramblers

Kent is a great county for walking and we are here to help you make the most of it, whether you want to join the led walks organised by our thirteen Groups or want some inspiring ideas for walking on your own.  Even if you don't want either of these, we hope you will still join us to support the vital efforts of our volunteers protecting the footpaths and working tirelessly to promote the interests of all walkers.

New Guide to the Wealdway

In partnership with our friends in Sussex Ramblers we have published a new Guide to the Wealdway, an 82-mile long waymarked walk across Kent and East Sussex from Gravesend on the Thames Estuary to Eastbourne on the Channel coast.  On the way it traverses the North and South Downs, the Greensand ridge and the High and Low Wealds.  Previous guides to this splendid route have long been out of print and we are delighted to be filling this gap in the market.  The guide follows the same format as others published in recent years so that four titles are now available.  Please see more details on our publications page.

What We Do

Led Walks

We have thirteen Groups in Kent, each offering a comprehensive walking programme not just for members in their patch but for any members wanting to join their walks.  The groups are listed at the bottom of the page and the eleven that have a geographical basis are shown on the map below.

Path Protection

Most of our members don't join our led walks but their subscriptions support the important work we do looking after the paths that we all enjoy.  We have scores of volunteers who join path maintenance teams, survey the paths and undertake detailed legal work and map-based research to ensure changes to the path network are for the benefit of walkers.

Information for Walkers

If you are looking for routes or other information about walking, we are the experts.  On this site you will find our favourite routes and lots of useful information about walking in Kent.  There are links to the Ramblers' national site where you can find more information and routes in other parts of Great Britain.

We also have some good quality walking publications.
